What are some hallmarks of Chinese food?

中国菜很好吃。每一个不同的省有不同的好吃的菜。四川菜的特点是麻辣。一个特别有名的川菜是麻婆豆腐。北中国的菜比较咸。一个很好吃的北京菜是北京鸭。中国东部的菜比较甜。山西人特别喜欢吃酸的,因为那边做很多醋。广东跟上海人喜欢吃点心,海鲜,因为他们离大海很近。一般来说,北边人喜欢吃馒头,包子,面条,因为北方的天气土地很好做麦子。南方人喜欢吃米饭,因为南方的天气,土地很好种大米。中国人也特爱喝茶,喝白酒。

China's food is very good. Every province has a different type of cuisine. Sichuan cuisine is very hot and spicy. One very famous Sichuan dish is "mapo tofu". Northern Chinese cuisine is very salty. One world-famous Beijing dish is Peking duck. Shanxi people like to eat sour food, because Shanxi produces a lot of vinegar. Cantonese and Shanghainese people like to eat dim sum and seafood, because they are near the sea. Northern Chinese people like to eat mantou, baozi, and noodles, because that area is very good for growing wheat. Southern Chinese people like to eat rice, because the soil and climate are very good for growing rice. All Chinese love to drink tea and rice liquor.
